Location Control
Snowbourn Scout (C) cannot help you
much with Locations but it can still help a little. When combined with other
means to explore locations, his contribution may become significant. Overall,
this is always an option as the cost is mere 1 resource.
It is hard to think of a less useful card than Lórien Guide (C). Perhaps (hopefully) the future Silvan synergies
will change that.
Northern Tracker (C) is a different
story entirely. In the times of the core set only, there was hardly a more
powerful generic ally than this Dúnedain.
His good
stats are boosted by a great ability, and the only set-back is the cost or
quests with very few locations.
Did someone mention Lórien Guide was not very
powerful, well Ravenhill Scout (D1) will have
something to say about that, these two allies may currently be battling for the highly-coveted
LVP in the game.
This is one (of the very few) reasons for preferring the Lore version of
Glorfindel to the Spirit one, since Asfaloth
(D5), his famed horse comes in the same sphere. Of course you can play the card
without Glorfindel but again this is not a good idea at all.
